Epic Group, one of the world’s leading apparel manufacturers, has officially entered India with the launch of its first garment manufacturing unit in Odisha, backed by an investment of $100 million. The new Trimetro Manufacturing Campus, located in Kalibeti Industrial Estate in Khurda district, began production just 15 months after the project foundation was laid, reflecting strong execution speed and growing investor confidence in India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Spread over 40 acres, the campus is among the most advanced apparel production facilities in the country. With 32 production lines housed across two complexes, the unit is expected to manufacture around 20 million garments annually for leading global brands. Most of the production will be export-oriented, helping India strengthen its role in global apparel supply chains serving markets such as the United States, Europe, and Japan.

The project is expected to generate nearly 10,000 jobs in phases, with around 80 percent of the workforce likely to be women. This makes the unit not only an industrial investment but also a strong driver of inclusive employment and women-led economic participation in the region.

Epic Group Chairman Ranjan Mahtani said the Odisha facility would become a major centre of attraction and help position the state as an emerging destination for textile and apparel manufacturing. Company officials also noted that all processes from fabric cutting to branding, finishing, and packaging are being carried out under one roof. A major highlight of the facility is its sustainability model. It is being described as India’s first fully net-zero carbon and net-zero water garment production campus. The project uses solar energy, sustainable biomass, battery storage systems, and high-efficiency machinery to minimise environmental impact.

With world-class infrastructure, export capability, sustainability focus, and employment generation, Epic Group’s India launch is being seen as a landmark development that could reshape Odisha’s industrial landscape and strengthen India’s global garment manufacturing ambitions.
