Sanjeev Arora, a Rajya Sabha MP, has committed to raising the critical issues facing the textile and knitwear sector with the central government. He gave this assurance during his visit to the Exhibition-cum-National Buyers and Sellers Meet, organized by the Knitwear and Apparel Manufacturers Association of Ludhiana (KAMAL), at the Exhibition Centre in Sahnewal, near Ludhiana.

The exhibition displayed the latest knitwear and apparel from regional manufacturers, drawing national interest from buyers across the country. During his visit, Arora spoke with various event organizers and industry stakeholders, who voiced significant concerns, primarily regarding HSN Code classification irregularities and import malpractices like misdeclarations that harm local businesses.

Arora acknowledged the gravity of these challenges, pledging to represent the industry's concerns at the national level. He stated, "The problems facing Ludhiana's textile sector are justifiable and demand immediate action. I will raise these matters, predominantly the HSN codes' misuse, to the attention of the central government to ensure a timely resolution."

Industry representatives lauded his commitment and visit, expressing optimism that his advocacy could lead to significant reforms and increased protections for domestic manufacturers. The event continues to be a crucial platform for industry networking, emphasizing innovation, and promoting policy reforms that foster the expansion of India's textile sector.
